What Can Be Automated in Content Creation (and What Can't)
Most of content creation can be automated now: auditing your account, planning a posting calendar, turning a rough idea into a brief, and producing the images, carousels and video. What can't be handed off is judgement: deciding what is true about your business, approving what goes public, and pressing publish, which on Instagram AIGE does not do for you.
Most pages that answer this question promise "fully automatic" content. This one walks through the actual split inside AIGE, step by step, including the parts that are still manual and why.
The short version
Step | Automated? | Where it happens in AIGE |
|---|---|---|
Auditing your Instagram profile | Yes | The Instagram Growth Agent scores your profile from 0 to 100 and pins each finding where the problem is |
Planning a posting calendar | Yes | The Growth Agent's Plan tab: 3, 4, 5 or 7 posts a week, in plans of 6, 8 or 12 posts |
Turning an idea into a brief | Yes | Hooks, recommended formats, captions and prompts from one rough sentence |
Making images, carousels and video | Yes, and it spends credits | The Studio, the carousel builder and the AIGE Agent |
Recurring drafting while you're away | Yes | Scheduled agent tasks, such as "every Monday at 9am, draft three post ideas" |
Approving what goes public | No | You. The agent stops for your OK before it posts anything publicly |
Publishing to Instagram | No | You. AIGE prepares the post; it does not publish to Instagram |
What AI can take off your plate
The audit. Paste your handle into the Growth Agent and it rebuilds your profile, scores it from 0 to 100, and pins each finding on the spot where the problem is: a bio that buries its call to action, an avatar that disappears at thumbnail size. A real audit needs you signed in. The Growth Agent guide walks through a full session.
The plan. The Plan tab turns the audit into a dated calendar. You pick a cadence of 3, 4, 5 or 7 posts a week and a plan of 6, 8 or 12 posts, and the agent drafts the format, angle, caption and posting time for each one. Its growth forecast is a range, not a promise.
The brief. Type or say a rough idea, like "before and after using our glaze recipe", and the Ideas tab returns a content brief: hooks, recommended formats with a reason for each, captions with hashtags, and prompts per model with the credit cost shown. The AIGE Agent can compose the same kind of brief from a chat message.
The making. Images, short videos and multi-slide carousels are where most of the hours used to go, and they are the most automatable part. The agent can generate a batch of images in parallel, build a carousel deck and fill its slides, and animate a still image into video. If the same person appears across your posts, save them as a character once so the face holds from post to post; here is how that works. Already working in Claude or Cursor? The same generation tools are available through AIGE's MCP server.
The recurring work. Give the AIGE Agent an explicit time, such as "every Monday at 9am, draft three post ideas for next week", and it creates a scheduled task that runs a fresh agent turn at that time. You can list or cancel your schedules later. It only schedules when you give it a time; an ordinary request runs straight away.
What still needs a person
What's true about your business. AI drafts from what you give it. Prices, offers, opening hours and claims about your product have to come from you, and someone should check them in every caption before it goes out.
Approving what goes public. When the agent is about to post something publicly, such as publishing a finished carousel to the AIGORA feed, it stops and asks first. That pause stays on unless you choose to always allow that step for the session.
Publishing to Instagram. AIGE does not post to Instagram for you. The Meta connection that would allow it is not switched on, so everything the Growth Agent and the AIGE Agent prepare, you publish yourself.
Pinterest, partly. In the Pinterest tool, AI writes each Pin's title, description, tags and alt text, at 3 credits per image. You still choose which Pins go out, to which board, and when. The Pinterest guide covers that flow.
A realistic weekly routine
Once: run an audit and apply the fixes that matter for your audience.
Once a month: generate a 6-, 8- or 12-post plan at a cadence you can actually keep.
Every Monday, on a schedule: an agent task drafts the week's ideas.
One batch session: turn the ideas you like into images, carousels or clips in one sitting.
Every post: read it, fix anything untrue, and publish it yourself.
Steps 1 to 4 are mostly software. Step 5 is the part no tool should skip for you.
What automation costs
Automation on AIGE runs on credits, so know what spends them. Every agent turn is billed, including the ones a schedule fires while you're away: at the time of writing, from 2 credits for a fast turn and from 6 for a high-thinking turn, plus whatever that turn generates. Images, video and Pin metadata are charged per item. The credits guide explains how credits work.
Quick answers
Question | Answer |
|---|---|
Can AIGE post to Instagram automatically? | No. Instagram publishing is not live. AIGE prepares posts, captions and carousels; you publish them. |
Can it keep working while I'm away? | Yes, through scheduled agent tasks. Each run is a normal agent turn and spends credits like one. |
Do I need a GPU or design software? | No. Generation runs in the cloud, and the carousel builder handles layout. |
Can I drive it from Claude or Cursor? | Yes. AIGE's MCP server exposes the same generation tools; see the MCP guide. |
Do this next
Open the Growth Agent and run one audit. Then open the AIGE Agent and ask it, with a real day and time, to draft next week's post ideas every Monday. From then on the planning and drafting run without you, and your job is the last step: reading and posting.
