Carciofo: A Deli Brand Made in AIGE

Carciofo is an invented Roman-Jewish deli from Studio NNTN, made in AIGE. Its idea, colors, wordmark and lines, why they hold together, and what to borrow.

Carciofo is an invented Roman-Jewish deli in Florentin, Tel Aviv: a studio-original brand from Studio NNTN, made in AIGE, not a client project. On record are its idea, name, identity, campaign and packaging. How each piece was made is not documented, so this article covers the decisions, not a recipe.

A deli that starts with one dish

Carciofo takes the cooking of the old Jewish ghetto of Rome and moves it to a corner of Florentin. The name comes from the signature dish, an artichoke fried twice until it opens like a flower. Naming the place after one dish gives the rest of the brand something to point back to.

Studio NNTN lists five jobs on the project: naming, identity, art direction, a campaign and packaging. The look is artichoke purple and lemon yellow, a wobbly wordmark that looks hand cut, and a rabbi who wants you to eat. The tone is half Nonna, half chutzpah.

Two banners hanging in shop windows on a sand-colored wall. The left one is purple, with a fried artichoke and the line Where Nonna meets the rabbi. The right one is cream, with a purple line drawing of a smiling rabbi holding a plate, headed A kiddush for every craving. Both carry the Carciofo wordmark.

Six chapters, each in the brand's accent

The project is shown in six chapters, and the titles alone already sound like the brand:

  1. Eat, it's a mitzvah

  2. Oil. Wine. Chutzpah.

  3. Florentin, Tel Aviv

  4. Nonna's table

  5. Take some home

  6. On the feed

Four lines are on record: "Eat, it's a mitzvah", "Seconds are a commandment.", "Oil. Wine. Chutzpah." and "L'chaim is a full sentence." Each is short enough for a shop window, a cup or a caption. Two of them borrow a solemn word, mitzvah and commandment, for something as ordinary as eating.

Three square labels with scalloped edges on a deep purple ground, under the heading The kosher trinity: oil, wine and chutzpah. A yellow label shows an artichoke dripping oil, a lilac one shows a winged wine glass, and a purple one shows a bundle of chili peppers, each with a pill-shaped name tag and the Carciofo wordmark at the foot.

Why the pieces hold together

None of this is a recipe, but the decisions are easy to read:

  • The name is the signature dish. Once you know where it comes from, the name tells you what to order.

  • The colors are food. Artichoke purple and lemon yellow are named after things from the kitchen, which gives the palette a reason you can explain in one sentence.

  • The wordmark looks hand cut. A wobbly edge says a person made it, which suits a deli built on Nonna's table.

  • The rabbi has one job. He wants you to eat. A character with a single verb is easy to write for, and the lines and chapter titles show it: eat, seconds, take some home.

  • The tone has two halves. Nonna brings the warmth and chutzpah brings the cheek.

Packaging is the fifth job on the list, and it is where the palette and the wordmark have to work on something you can pick up.

Two flat purple herring tins with gold pull rings and cream line drawings of a fish, one lying and one standing, next to a halved red onion, a bumpy lemon and a plain steel can, all on a pale yellow ground. The lids read Herring in olive oil and Holy fish, with the Carciofo wordmark.

What to borrow for your own brand

  1. Write the lines first. Four short lines tell you whether the brand has a point of view before you spend anything on pictures.

  2. Name every color after something real. If a color has no object behind it, ask why it is there.

  3. Give your one character one verb. Eat, pour, light, take. What they say follows from it.

  4. Plan chapters for the places people meet you. A name, a place, a table, a take-home and a feed make a fair start for a food brand.

One face for the rabbi: where AIGE fits

AIGE is an image and video studio, and the feature that matters for a brand with a recurring figure is the saved character. You save the figure once, as a name, an avatar and a gallery of reference photos you can keep adding to, then pick it for any image. Those reference photos feed Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro and GPT Image 2; Recraft 4.1 takes text only.

If your brand has a figure like Carciofo's rabbi, this is the route for keeping one face from the window banner to the cup to the feed post. The AI character generator page describes the method: write one identity line (age, hair, eyes, build, a mark or two) and never reword it, and change only the scene, outfit, pose and light around it. Faces can still drift, so check every image, regenerate the ones that wandered and add the good ones back to the gallery.

Two limits apply to a food brand like this one. AIGE does not generate logos: you upload your own to the brand kit and use it in designs. And small text inside an image can still come out wrong, so read every line a customer will see, from a window banner to a cup, before you publish. The AI image generator page lists the models and prices.

A figure with one verb is easy to write for, and a saved character is what makes the same figure easy to draw again.

Honest note: Carciofo is an invented brand, and nothing here is a client result. It was made by Studio NNTN, a separate company, a creative agency that works on AIGE, which confirmed on 26 October 2026 that the project was made in AIGE; that is the maker's own account, not an outside review. Which model, prompt or step produced the wordmark, the rabbi or any other piece is not documented, so none is claimed, and neither are hours or credit costs.
