On the laptop Canvas, select a picture or clip and press Download: you get the file AIGE stored, with no watermark and no credits spent. Right-click a still for an Export menu with PNG, JPEG and WEBP. Carousel decks download as one PNG per slide, and Atelier designs export as PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG or PDF.
Pictures and clips: four places to press Download
This guide follows the laptop Canvas, the screen AIGE opens on a laptop or desktop when you are signed in. A phone differs, and it gets its own short section near the end. On the Canvas, each of these saves the original file.
The action bar. Click a picture or clip on the board and the bar over it has a Download button. On a picture that has a prompt, Download also copies the prompt to your clipboard.
Right-click. Download is one of the first rows in the menu.
The inspector. In the right-hand panel, the Export section has two buttons: Download and To chat.
The chat. A result in the chat panel has a Download button, and its tooltip reads "Save to your device". Its "View full size" button opens a larger view with a Download pill and, when there is a prompt, Copy prompt.
Original matters because the board shows lighter copies. When you zoom out, it draws smaller versions of big pictures so panning stays smooth. Download never uses those copies: it fetches the stored file. Select a picture and the inspector's Details usually list a Source size, which is the pixel size of the file you will get, and what is AI image resolution explains what more pixels do and do not buy you.
Download saves the file as AIGE stored it, with no re-encode, in whatever type the model returned. Your browser decides the folder, because AIGE hands the file to it as an ordinary download.
Choosing PNG, JPEG or WEBP
Right-click a still and open Export. Its three picture rows, PNG, JPEG and WEBP, convert the picture in your browser and save it at its own pixel size. JPEG has no transparency, so AIGE fills any transparent area with white first. JPEG and WEBP are saved at quality 0.92.
Two limits apply. A conversion changes the type, not the detail: a 1024-pixel picture is still 1024 pixels afterward. And the rows are for stills only. A clip gets no format rows, so it downloads as the file AIGE stored.
Use plain Download when you want the stored file untouched. Pick an Export row when the place you are sending the file insists on a type.
Clips and carousel decks
A clip you made downloads with the same buttons, minus the format rows, and nothing is drawn on it. A cut you assemble in the Canvas video editor leaves through the editor's own Export dialog instead, at 720 or 1080 as MP4 or WebM depending on your browser, recorded in real time in your tab, and AI video for YouTube owns those details.
For a carousel, double-click its card on the board to open the slides. The header there has a Download button. It draws each slide at the deck's own size, 1080 pixels wide: 1080 by 1080 for 1:1, 1080 by 1350 for 4:5 and 1080 by 1920 for 9:16. You get PNG files, one per slide, numbered in order, such as my-deck-slide-01.png. While it works, the button counts "Preparing 2/5…".
Where your browser can share files, AIGE opens the share sheet instead of downloading, which is the route into Photos on a phone. A deck set up as a social post also has Download slides in the inspector, with a count such as 5 PNG. This path makes no PDF and no ZIP. Atelier, below, does export PDFs of its own designs.
Atelier designs: the widest Export menu
Atelier is AIGE's design editor, and it needs a signed-in account. Its Export button has the longest list, and the AI YouTube thumbnails guide walks through it for a thumbnail. Pick the multiplier first, then the row.
Menu row | What you get |
|---|---|
1×, 2×, 3× | A size multiplier for the picture rows and the PDF. The menu starts on 2×. |
PNG, PNG · transparent | The page as a PNG, with its background or without it. |
JPG, WebP | The page as a JPG or a WebP, both saved at quality 0.92. |
Selection · PNG | The area around your selection, cropped to it, on a transparent background; other pieces inside that box show too. It stays greyed out until something is selected. |
SVG · vector | The page as an SVG. When AIGE has to simplify something, it shows a notice that says what. |
PDF, or PDF · all pages | One PDF with a page for each page of the design. |
GIF · animated · ≤720px | An animated GIF, capped at 720 pixels. |
MP4 · video · ≤1080px | A video capped at 1080 pixels. The row says WebM where your browser cannot make MP4. |
All pages · PNG, All pages · JPG | Every page of a multi-page design as its own file. They show up when a design has more than one page. |
Each PDF page is a picture, so you cannot select the text in it, but links you added stay clickable. The rows above run in your browser and take no credits.
The Vault: where your files live
Everything you generate goes into your account's history, and the Vault is how you browse it. In a wide window, open the project name at the top left and choose Vault, which reads "everything you made". In a narrow window the top bar has a Vault button instead, titled with "everything you've generated". It searches prompts and models, filters by All, Images and Video and by Any time, Today, 7 days or 30 days, and Load older pages further back.
The Vault does not download. Clicking a tile puts the full-resolution file on the board at the center of your view, or selects it if it is already there, and then any Download above works. The Vault page at aige.ws/history is the other way in. An item there has a Download section with a button for each file, such as Video or Image.
That page also shows a storage readout against your plan's allowance, once AIGE has measured your account. Near the limit, its note says nothing is deleted automatically. AIGE also has a way to expire old files, off by default, and we cannot see from outside whether it is on today. Download anything you could not remake.
What it costs, and what is on the file
None of this charges credits. Download fetches a file that already exists, the format rows and the slide PNGs are drawn in your browser, Atelier exports in your browser, and the video editor's export records on your machine. Credits go on making things, and which image model to pick in AIGE shows what a picture costs.
The Canvas Download adds no watermark to a picture or a clip. The only place AIGE offers a wordmark is the classic Grid view, at aige.ws/grid, where an Export menu lists Clean original ("Save without an AIGE watermark") and Share-ready ("Save with the AIGE watermark"). Only pictures take the mark, and AI video without a watermark has the full story.
AIGE writes no Content Credentials into a download. Whatever a model's own vendor builds into its file stays in the stored file, because AIGE saves what the model returns, and we have not checked what each model does.
On a phone
Everything above is the laptop Canvas. A phone shows the Board only on accounts where AIGE has switched it on, and anyone can try it signed out at aige.ws/?try=1. Every other signed-in phone opens the classic Grid, where the Export menu from the section above lives. On the Board, the menu you open by holding a piece has Save to Photos, which opens the share sheet where your browser can share files and downloads the file where it cannot. The AIGE board on your phone describes the Board, and AIGE on phone vs laptop compares the two.
Honest note: We read these paths from AIGE's own code on 28 October 2026 and did not run each one for this article. We found no button that exports a whole board, a frame or several items as one file, and no download-all for the Vault, so files leave one at a time and a deck leaves as one PNG per slide. We did not test which file type each model returns, so the stored type can differ from model to model, and an Export row is the way to get a known one. The Post button on a picture sends it to your channels, which is publishing, and this article does not cover it. The Board on a phone is per account.
Quick answers
Question | Answer |
|---|---|
How do I download an image from AIGE? | On the laptop Canvas, click the picture and press Download in the bar over it. Right-click, the inspector's Export section and the chat results have Download too. |
What file format are AIGE downloads? | Download saves the stored file as the model returned it. For a type you choose, right-click a still, open Export and pick PNG, JPEG or WEBP. A clip has no format choice. |
Does downloading cost credits? | No. Download, the PNG, JPEG and WEBP rows, carousel slides, Atelier exports and the video editor's export take no credits. Making a picture or a clip does. |
Does AIGE put a watermark on downloads? | The Canvas Download does not. The classic Grid view's Export menu offers Share-ready, which adds the AIGE wordmark to a picture, beside Clean original, which adds nothing. |
Can I download a whole carousel? | Yes, as PNG files, one per slide, at 1080 pixels wide. That path makes no PDF or ZIP. Atelier exports a design as a PDF. |
Can I download everything I have made at once? | We found no download-all. The Vault places a file on the board, and each file downloads on its own. |
Where are my old generations? | In the Vault. In a wide window it is in the project menu at the top left, and in a narrow window it is a button in the top bar. |
How do I export a video I edited? | Use the editor's Export dialog. It records the cut in your tab at 720 or 1080, as MP4 or WebM, and AI video for YouTube has the details. |
