Freepik AI is the AI side of Freepik, which announced on 28 April 2026 that it was becoming Magnific: image, video, audio and 3D tools, plus Spaces, a node-based canvas. Magnific's own FAQ says Freepik AI is now Magnific AI and accounts carry over. As of October 2026 individual plans start at $20 a month.
Freepik is now Magnific
As of October 2026, freepik.com sends you to magnific.com, where pages carry the label "formerly Freepik". Tech.eu and The Next Web both reported the change on 28 April 2026. The new name comes from Magnific, an AI image upscaler that Freepik acquired in May 2024. Until the rebrand the company's work sat under separate brands: Freepik for stock, Magnific for upscaling. Magnific's AI page calls itself "a complete creative platform for image, video, audio and 3D, formerly Freepik AI", and its FAQ says your account, credits and projects carry over.
So "Freepik AI" in a search box now means the AI tools of that one company. A library of more than 250 million stock assets sits on the same platform, next to the generators. An old Freepik help article on Spaces now redirects to Magnific's docs.
What the image, video and audio tools do
Image. The AI hub lists an image generator, a photo editor, an upscaler, Reimagine for variations, Custom Characters ("keep the same character in every image"), Change Camera, Background Remover and Relight. Image model families named there include Magnific One, Mystic, Nano Banana, Flux, Seedream, GPT Image, Ideogram, Krea and Recraft.
Video. A video generator works from text, an image or both. The home page names Kling 3, Seedance 2, Minimax and Wan, and the launch list shows Kling 4 added on 21 October.
Audio and 3D. Magnific lists music, sound effects and text to speech; AIGE does not generate voices or speech. For 3D it lists photoshoots with full control and 3D scenes built from any image.
It also connects outward. Magnific can be called from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor through its MCP server, there is a REST API, and the page lists plugins for Photoshop, Premiere and Figma plus desktop and mobile apps.
Spaces: the node-based canvas
Spaces is a canvas where you connect AI tools visually to build, automate and share creative workflows. Each step is a node, a block that does one thing, such as generating an image, writing a prompt or upscaling a video. Connections carry images, text, video and audio from one node's output to the next node's input. Run the workflow and data moves through the chain, and you can save it and run it again.
The docs sort nodes into seven groups: media, text, image, video, audio, utilities and a Designer node, which is a full graphic design editor embedded in Spaces. Several people can work on the same canvas in real time. The Spaces page shows ready-made templates such as "Adapt and animate ads", "Create social media post", "Generate 360º product view" and "Storyboard to motion".
Freepik AI pricing, as of October 2026
These are the individual plans on Magnific's pricing page on 27 October 2026, before VAT. The page says annual billing saves 25%.
Plan | Per month | Billed annually | Credits per year |
|---|---|---|---|
Premium | $20 | $14.50 a month | 240,000 |
Premium+ | $45 | $33.75 a month | 600,000 |
Pro Starter | $110 | $82.50 a month | 1,500,000 |
The page says credits are valid for one year with no monthly resets, and it lists a 30-day refund guarantee. Premium+ and above add a short list of models marked for the whole year without a credit count per generation, among them Nano Banana 2 and Kling 2.5. Magnific's FAQ answers "Can I use Magnific for free?" with yes and says paid plans add more credits, higher resolution and commercial use. Business and Enterprise plans add shared credits and admin controls. Read the licence terms for your own use before you publish client work.
What a single canvas adds
Magnific has a canvas too, so a canvas alone is not the difference. AIGE adds saved characters that keep one face across stills and clips. Each image lands on its Canvas board, can be animated with a video model and is cut together on a timeline into an MP4. A credit price shows before every run. The same credits work from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor over MCP, which Magnific offers on its side as well.
Magnific lists GPT Image among its image models and Kling 3 among its video models, so those two make a fair pair to price. In AIGE a 1K GPT Image 2 image costs 6 credits on the medium setting and 22 credits on high, and a 5-second Kling V3 Pro clip with sound costs 84 credits. Magnific counts credits per year, 240,000 on Premium, so the numbers do not line up one to one. Convert both to dollars on the plan you would buy.
Magnific also lists stock assets, 3D tools, upscalers and a node editor with real-time collaboration. If you need those in one place, start there. If you mostly make images and clips around one character, start with the AI image generator or the AI video page, and see the plans for what each AIGE plan includes before you commit.
Honest note: everything above about Magnific comes from its own pages and two news reports of 27 October 2026, not from our use of it. Plans, credits and model lists move often, so confirm them on its pricing page. AIGE competes with it for the same image and clip jobs and charges for every generation, while Magnific's FAQ answers yes to whether you can use it for free.
