What Is Seedance? Versions, Length and Cost

Seedance is ByteDance's AI video model: it makes a video clip from a prompt, a still image or reference files, and can generate the sound too. AIGE runs Seedance 2.0 (4 to 15 seconds) and Seedance 2.5 (4 to 30 seconds). A 5-second 720p clip costs 152 credits on 2.0 Pro and 232 credits on 2.5.

What Seedance is

Seedance comes from the ByteDance Seed team. The 2.0 generation is built on what ByteDance calls a unified multimodal audio-video joint generation architecture. In plain terms, sound and picture are generated together. It accepts text, image, audio and video inputs, and images, clips and audio can all serve as references for a shot.

Seedance 2.5 arrived on 31 July 2026 and lifts a single clip to 30 seconds. The release dates and the list of what ByteDance changed are in Seedance 2.5: what changed from 2.0. This article covers the models as AIGE runs them.

The Seedance versions in AIGE

AIGE's video menu has two Seedance entries. Seedance is version 2.0, with a Pro tier and a Fast tier. Seedance 2.5 has one tier.

Any whole second inside the range can be picked. A clip starts from a text prompt, from a start image (the image to video route), or from reference files you add. Sound is a switch in the settings and adds nothing to the price.

What a Seedance clip costs

Price follows length and size. The table shows what AIGE charges for 5, 10 and 15 seconds. The last column divides the 10-second price by ten, so you can compare versions per second.

Size moves the price more than anything else. A 5-second 2.0 Pro clip costs 68 credits at 480p, 152 credits at 720p and 341 credits at 1080p. Only 2.5 goes past 15 seconds: a full 30-second shot costs 1387 credits at 720p and 617 credits at 480p. The studio shows the exact cost beside Generate before you run, and the video cost page puts Seedance next to the other video models.

Which version to pick

Test an idea on 2.0 Fast at 480p, the cheapest Seedance setting, then render the keeper at 720p. Move to 2.0 Pro when you need 1080p. Choose 2.5 when a shot has to run past 15 seconds without a cut, or when you have a pile of reference files.

Not every setting is open on every plan. On the plan list, Starter includes one Seedance setting, Fast at 720p for 5 seconds, while Seedance 2.5 and the 2.0 Pro tier begin at the Pro plan. The pricing page lists the plans, and the Seedance guide keeps the full version comparison.

Honest note: results vary with the same prompt, and ByteDance's own post on 2.5 says complex motion and scenes with several interacting subjects still need work. Run a short 480p test before a long clip.
