To turn a photo into a video in AIGE, put the picture on the Canvas, open a Video widget's editor and choose Make, then From a picture. Pick a model and a length, read the price on the button, press Make the clip, then trim and export. This is the laptop flow.
What you need, and where this works
This is the laptop Canvas. The Video editor lives there, and every step below happens in it. On a phone, aige.ws/?try=1 opens a demo whose Send button plays a prepared example and makes nothing, and the phone board is a per-account feature rather than something every phone has. The phone-versus-laptop guide lists what each device does.
You also need credits and a plan that reaches the model you pick. Putting the photo on the board costs nothing. Making the clip is charged when you press the button, and the price is on the button first. Step 6 covers it.
Step 1: Put the photo on the board
There are three ways in, all on the Canvas:
Drag it. Drop an image file from your desktop onto the board. It appears under the cursor.
Paste it. Copy an image, click the board and paste with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V.
Pick it. Right-click empty board and choose Add image…, or use Place image in the tool bar's Shapes menu.
Mind the size. These routes take files up to 2.5 MB. A larger image is skipped without a message, so if nothing appears, that is why. For a big photo, skip the board and use the Upload… button in step 3, which has no size check of its own. The video model can have limits of its own, though. The one provider statement this guide found is on fal's Kling 3 Turbo page, read on 28 October 2026: a JPG or PNG, up to 50 MB, at least 300 pixels on each side, in a shape between 1:2.5 and 2.5:1. It is stated for that model only, and Upload… checks none of it, so keeping to it is the safe course. A picture already on your board, made in AIGE or placed earlier, needs no step at all.
Step 2: Add a Video widget and open the Make tab
Add the widget. Open Make in the tool bar and choose Video. A Video widget appears on the board.
Open the editor. Press Open editor in the widget's header. It opens on the Media tab.
Choose Make. It is the second tab in the library on the left.
Choose From a picture. It is one of seven chips under the tab. The hint beneath them reads "A picture comes to life. Change it first, or end on another one."
The widget has a smaller form of its own with a Start from a picture slot. It will not make anything until you type a line of words, and the editor's form does not ask for one, so this guide follows the editor.
Step 3: Choose the start picture
The Start picture area lists the pictures on your board, then any you uploaded in this session. Press one and it turns into a single row with Change and a clear button beside it. Two buttons sit under the list. Upload… opens your computer's file picker. Use the frame on show grabs the frame the preview is showing right now, which lets you start a clip from any frame of a clip you already have. On a board with no pictures the list says so and points at those two buttons.
Two switches appear once a picture is chosen:
Change it first. Type how the picture should change, such as golden hour or falling snow, and press Change the picture. That is a separate image edit at 8 credits, and the result becomes the start picture.
End on a picture. Adds a second picture for the clip to finish on. Leave it off for a first clip. If you use it, pick Kling V3 or Kling o3 first, not Kling 3 Turbo. The form still lets you add an end picture on Turbo, but Turbo's request carries only the start picture, so the end picture is dropped and the clip is charged all the same.
The box under them, What happens, is optional. Leave it empty and the editor sends the grey line shown in the box, "Bring the picture to life with natural motion." Writing a better line is a craft of its own, and AI animation from one image covers what to ask the picture to do and where the limits are. The Write it well link under the box expands a short idea into a longer one. It spends no credits, but it shares a per-person limit with auto captions, so it can run out.
Step 4: Choose the shape
The shape is not in the form. It is the switch in the editor's header: 9:16, 16:9, 1:1 and 4:5. A new Video widget starts at 9:16, so set the switch to the shape nearest your photo before you press anything that charges. What is an aspect ratio explains the numbers if they are new to you.
What the switch does depends on the model. All three Kling versions, Seedance 2.5 and H3 Max make the clip in the shape of your picture and take nothing from the switch. Seedance and Omni Flash are asked for the shape you set, within the shapes they make. Either way, the timeline's frame is the shape you chose, and a clip in a different shape is cropped to fill it. Select the clip and choose Fit in the inspector to show all of it, with black, blurred or white behind. The shape never changes the price.
Step 5: Choose a model and a length
The Model list and the Length slider sit under the box. The form opens on Kling V3 at 5 seconds. The list includes Kling V3, Kling 3 Turbo, Kling o3, Seedance, Seedance 2.5, Omni Flash and H3 Max, and it changes as models come and go. Kling image to video covers the three Kling versions. The slider steps one second at a time over what the chosen model makes: 3 seconds at the short end on the Kling family and Omni Flash, 30 at the long end on Seedance 2.5. How long an AI video can be has each model's range. A model or length your plan cannot make carries the plan's name beside it.
There is no quality, resolution or sound control in this form. The editor makes every clip at its own defaults: each model's standard tier at a 720p-class size. It asks Kling V3, Kling o3, Seedance and Seedance 2.5 for sound, and the form has no switch to change that. It sends no sound setting for the other three.
Step 6: Read the price, then press the button
The yellow button at the bottom of the form says Make the clip with the price beside it, for example "Make the clip · 63 cr". It is the price the charge will use, worked out before you press, and it shows even before you pick a picture. Until the form has what it needs the button stays off, and a line under it says what is missing, such as "Pick a start picture first."
Here is one worked example with every setting named. Start picture: your own photo. Change it first: off. End on a picture: off. What happens: empty. Model: Kling V3. Length: 5 seconds. Quality: Standard, which is what the form uses. Sound: on, because the editor asks Kling V3 for sound and the price includes it. Shape: any, since it does not change the price. The button reads 63 credits. Turn on Change it first and the whole job costs 71 credits: 8 credits for the picture edit and 63 for the clip. Plan on more than one try, because every press is charged on its own.
The price follows the model and the length. Other models cost other amounts: AI video for YouTube has the price table for several of them, and the Kling how-to has the table for the three Kling versions. The button shows the live price and the numbers here are the shipped default table, so trust the button.
Plan reach is the other half. In AIGE's default plan table, which can change, Starter makes Kling V3 clips of 3 to 5 seconds with sound, so the 63-credit example is open to it. Starter does not include H3 Max or Seedance 2.5. It makes Omni Flash at 360p rather than 720p, and the line under the button says so. A Kling V3 clip of 6 seconds or more needs Pro. Pro, Premier and Max reach every length of the Kling family, Seedance, Seedance 2.5, Omni Flash and H3 Max. When your plan cannot make your choice, the button names the plan that can in place of a price. Pressing it opens the plan sheet and charges nothing. The pricing page lists the plans.
Step 7: Wait for the clip, then trim
Press the button and a placeholder takes the clip's place on the timeline, after the clip you have selected, or by the playhead if none is selected. A note says the clip arrives there when it is ready, and the editor's header counts it as "making 1". You can keep editing while it renders. If your balance is short, the placeholder is taken back, the out-of-credits prompt opens and nothing is spent. A clip that does not finish shows a Try again button on the timeline.
When the clip is in, drag its edges on the timeline to trim it, or put the playhead where you want a cut and press S to split. Make the next clip the same way, since a new clip goes after the one you have selected. Clips still being made are left out of an export, so wait for them. To cut several clips from one product photo into an ad, see AI video ads without a crew.
Step 8: Export the video
Press Export at the top right, choose 720p or 1080p and start. It records the cut in your browser tab, spends no credits and saves the file to your board with a Download button. File types, frame sizes and what a 1080p export does and does not add to a clip are in AI video for YouTube.
Honest note: This is the laptop Canvas editor as read in October 2026, and it shows no clip, because none was made for this page. The From a picture form has no quality, resolution or sound control, so every clip comes out at the editor's defaults. Check each clip against your photo before you use it. Labels, models and prices change, so trust the button over this page.
